One of the best

by ronweakley, Tuesday 18 of August, 2009 (18:30:47)

The locale of the Inn & Spa at Parkside across from a small park on a cathedral-treed street off downtown Sacramento sets the tone and determines the content of an elegant bed & breakfast. This Inn couldn’t be more conducive for a quiet and very personal overnight stay. The accommodations were excellent. It takes a staff of deep graciousness and sensitivity to deal with all the personal tastes and requests from their guests, and for this place, proprietors Diane & Dan made it look easy. The room was beautiful, the kind of room anyone will be comfortable with in a classy and classic way. We easily can recommend this B&B as one of the best we’ve stayed in.

A total hidden getaway in the city!

The Inn and Spa at Parkside is truly a hidden getaway in Downtown Sacarmento! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly faces eager to make our stay perfect. The owner Diane was an absolute sweetheart and so accommodating!  We stayed in the Kiss room and it was so beautiful, comfortable and romantic. Best bed I ever slept in and the jacuzzi was awesome! We also had spa treatments and the massage therapists were amazing!  I had a facial with Kristin and she was not only so sweet and easy to talk to, but gave me the best facial ever! I am not sure what that other reviewer was talking about with the issues she had, but it sounds like we didn't even have facials at the same place! Everything was just perfect. Mingling with the other guests and Diane at wine and cheese was so much fun and our breakfast was delicious! Plus they bring it to your room if you want...what's better than breakfast in bed?! I would highly reccommend the Inn and Spa at Parkside to travellers, locals and just for a spa day!

Don't Bother

The facial I had was the worst I've experienced, and I don't say this lightly. The facialist wore plastic gloves (the type that come in home hair coloring kit), even as she massaged my face. She performed a perfunctory shoulder massage as the facial creams did their work, and then she left the room for about 10 minutes. A rather bright light was on in my eyes the whole time, including the time she wasn't working on my face. After the facial, my face swelled from one of the potions (not the facialist's fault), but when I called--twice--to ask what product she'd used, I never got a response. I had to go back to the inn to get an answer.

Hotel Stay

I didn't have time to experience any of the spa features of the hotel, but I did stay there two months ago. I'm not really a bed and breakfast person, so I didn't take advantage of the wine and cheese party in the afternoon. The room was lovely, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the shower and hot tub were just what I needed. The location is across from a park and can be a bit loud at times, but the fantastic flat-screen TV and delicious breakfast room service more than made up for it.
