A fake!! A quack!!!
I am a 30 year old man who went to Dennis Godby to check for food allergies to resolve acne issues. All I wanted was the food allergy test.
Well, he swindled me into taking the $200 metabolic panel test (I just wanted a food allergy test for $20-30, but obviously he isn't going to make money on that alone). Then he tries to sell me his crappy vitamin D capsules at 5,000 IU per tab. I tell him that's above the RDA for Vitamin D and that I'm worried about toxicity, but he convinces me (more like "tricks me") into buying the vitamin D capsules. Since I'm a white male and work in a building, he assumed that my vitamin D levels were low. He didn't even bother to get my blood work done, he was CERTAIN that my vitamin D levels were low. So he tells me to take TWO capsules EVERY DAY. That's 10,000 IUs a day, way over the RDA of 400 IUs.
After about a couple of weeks of taking the vitamins, I started getting some dizziness at work. But I attributed this to stress, not the vitamins. After about a month of taking these two capsules every day according to HIS ADVICE, I woke up in the middle of the night with my head pulsating!! I could feel my heart beating so powerfully and it woke me up.
I was not able to get rid of this health problem. I STILL continued to take the Vitamin D for a week because I TRUSTED this bastard. I did not believe that someone who convinced me that he's never had a patient overdose on vitamin D and that it was very hard to overdose would be the reason for my health problems.
Unfortunately, vitamin D is fat soluble and doesn't get flushed out of your body the next day. Eventually I realized with my own research that vitamin D toxicity causes hyper tension (high blood pressure). I tested my BP: 150/100!!!!!! I NEVER in my life had such a high reading ever!!! I immediately quit the vitamin D, but because it stays in your fat, I had to put up with the high blood pressure for a LONG time.
Eventually after two weeks of the blood pressure never dropping, I resorted to desperate measures and underwent a water fast for 4 1/2 days. This caused the vitamin D in my fat to quickly get released into my blood stream and I was experiencing a BP reading of 170/110 one day!!! Well, after experiencing that peak, with the help of a lot of fiber (YES, Mr. Godby, WHEAT fiber!! ooh, bad gluten!) my blood pressure gradually declined. I also performed a lot of anaerobic exercises like weight lifting and high intensity interval training until my blood pressure dropped to a level of 135/70 within two weeks.
Finally I can sleep well, no more waking up in the middle of the night because my heart pumps so violently and not being able to fall asleep again. I was unable to catch more than 4 hours of sleep a night for a month until I did the fast.
This guy should be in jail. He has no medical license, yet he and his sycophantic staff call him "Doctor". What gaul!! Assuming a title that you need years and years of medical schooling plus residency and internships to earn.
This guy, Mr. Godby, should be in jail or hell.
