Never seen a restaurant close so unceremoniously and without notice or explanation.... twice.

This is one of my favorite places to eat- not only is it because I am Indian and crave Indian food, but because the people at Gaylords really strive to make each meal an inviting and refreshing experience. The food at Gaylords is always excellent (although, the chef still has trouble with my preferred spice level: HOT), the naans are fresh and buttery, the rice tender and aromatic, the tandoori crackling and mouth-watering and last but not least the delicious masala chai and cold glass of mango lassi for dessert- perfecto!
Gaylords is also under new management, and you can tell the difference! The manager, a young Indian fellow with a british accent, is always professionally attired and presentable and greets the customers with a big welcoming smile- he also makes an effort at catching and retaining guests names so that they feel even more welcome when they come back again- ensuring a slew of regulars who frequent the restaurant atleast once a week! The wait staff has been whittled down it seems, but you will still find familiar faces such as Sunny the big burly Indian guy or Mia the sweet short-haired American waitress who knows more about Indian food then most Indians! The staff at this restaurant is friendly and welcoming and adds to the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of Gaylords-
All these reasons (excellent food, excellent staff, comfortable and relaxing atnosphere) make Gaylords such a favorite of mine and the best thing about them is that they are one of the first restaurants to respond promptly to the changing economic situation- they have cut their buffet prices and offer many specials to help ease the burden of eating out for business/ state workers. Gaylords awareness of the current situation and its attempts at doing their little bit to help the situation goes a long way in my eyes and sets them up as a socially responsible organization that deserves my loyal patronage!
