Description
The Annual Midtown Halloween Trick or Treat.
Get your costumes and candy bags ready for this fun, safe, and FREE daytime event! Trick-or-Treat around the local Midtown shops and businesses on Saturday October 31,2009 11am-3pm. Enjoy our area from Capitol Ave to J Street from 16th Street to 27th Street. Participating businesses will have a special poster displayed designating their business as a place to stop to trick-or-treat!
Other Activities: u There will be fun activities available at two “rest stops” 11-3pm: ¬ 2400 J Street in the Relles Florist parking lot ¬ 1801 L Street Lofts courtyard from 11am-3pm (enter on L Street at the middle of the block, and go up the stairs into the courtyard).
è Activities include Howdy-Do-Dat the Magical Magician (complete with real bunny!), a face painting artist, children’s musical band, and more....as well as port-o-potties available. Please note that restrooms will not be available at most of the trick-or-treat stops.
uAlso, the Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park and Indian Museum at 27th & L Street and the Governor’s Mansion at 15th and H will also be a trick-or-treat stop 11am-3pm with historical Halloween activities (and bathroom facilities available).
u Stop by the First United Methodist Church at 21st & J Street from 11-3 on Oct 31 to find out how YOU can trick-or-treat to help UNICEF charity, or call (916) 446-5025.
Parking: For your convenience, there will be a parking “freeze” (free parking at meter spaces/no time limit enforcement) in Midtown from I St thru Capitol Avenue, and from 16th to 29th. Please note that handicap, fire, and loading zones will be enforced.
There are parking garages available at 17th & L Street (enter on 17th) only $2!! evenings and weekends 2701 N Street (Sutter Public Garage)
There are nearby public pay-lots at 1600 J Street, 2220 J Street, 1621 K Street, 1815 K Street, & 2700 28th Street
Please remember that vehicle traffic will be active all day. Please play safely, use the crosswalks, and follow the signals when crossing the streets.
