History
Home to one of California’s oldest wine-producing areas, vineyards and wineries first flourished in the Sacramento region during the Gold Rush era. A century later, in the 1970s, a renaissance in the growth of premium vineyards and wineries began. Ever since, the area has produced countless varietals of winning wines that rival the region’s more famous cousins in the Napa valley.
What: The Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) is pleased to announce the return of the 6th annual Grape Escape – A Capital Region Wine and Food Celebration - Presented by Raley's & Bel Air. The event features more than 100 local wineries and restaurants and includes wine and food tastings, a chef’s cooking competition presented by Institute of Technology, and live music and art displays.

Who: Wineries from Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Nevada,
Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin and Yolo County.
