Description
Studio #1 Steve Memering Opaque mediums, such as oil and acrylic gave him the freedom he needed to re- evaluate and explore his ideas along the way. Never really abandoning the demanding constraints of watercolor entirely, he now works predominantly in oil on canvas. Sacramento subjects are a major theme in Steve’s current paintings and all of his latest work has acquired its own unique look. The dramatic play of light and dark has become a persistent theme in his work along with bold, emotion-based color schemes. www.smithgallery.com Studio #3 Susan Rabinovitz, Little Relics Inspired by Nature, Forged by Hand, Susan specializes in one of a kind, hand-crafted jewelry. Where the sparkle of stone meets the whimsy of wire and metal, Susan gathers inspiration from nature and forges sterling sheet and copper metal into message charms and flowers, bending wire to frame a beautiful stone or forming shells and rocks to appear as a flower for a ring. www.littlerelics.com Studio #5 Vicki Asp Artist Vicki Asp’s sense of awe for the beauty of the world, a well-developed work ethic and twenty years of daily honoring her craft have brought that level of mastery to her vivid and luminous landscapes www.smithgallery.com Studio #5b Karen Dukes Karen Dukes: In 2006 I discovered I had a talent for painting and started capturing on canvas my love of plants and nature. Nature in bold, vibrant colors with a whimsical feel has been most of what my work has been so far. www.karendukes.com Studio Marbo Barnard Though adept in all mediums of painting, Marbo Barnard primarily utilizes pastels to create magnificent portraits and accurate still lifes. Her work, often a glorious reflection of her Asian heritage, exudes an undeniable slickness and grace bolstered by remarkable technical ability. The carefully orchestrated, yet elegant, simplicity exhibited in her stunning pastel pieces proves the Pastel Society of America a fortunate recipient of her membership and the world a privileged recipient of her artistic contributions. www.smithgallery.com Studio #19 Alister Oliver A walk around Alister Oliver’s gallery evokes lots of double-takes—a first look at a beautiful, richly colored image, followed by a second, longer gaze as one focuses in on something in the image that just doesn’t fit quite right. That, in a nutshell, is Alister’s style. “I like to pull people’s hair back,” he says.www.alisteroliver.com Studio #6 Evelyn Niehaus As a self-taught artist, Evelyn has been painting and working monochromatic pen & ink of Sacramento Landmarks for 10 years. Her amazing energy and talent bring new life to some of Sacramento's oldest buildings and residential homes. www.artbyevelyn.com |
