Zuda's Yoga Classes are changing people's lives. Each person's story is different, each experience unique. For many, the transformation begins with the very first class. From there, the positive effects multiply and touch every aspect of their lives.

Located on the corner of 19th and O in the heart of Sacramento’s lively Midtown District, ZUDA is a vibrant community center embracing the spirit of self-discovery and the holistic healing powers of yoga. Grounded. Centered. Boundless. Meditation in motion. Our eco-friendly boutique yoga studio and motivated ZUDA team welcome you, offering high-energy classes for all levels of practice, inspiration, and power.

WHY YOGA?

Beyond the benefits of physical exercise, yoga is about learning to explore yourself and your limitless potential. It is about thinking less and feeling more, from living life to loving life.

Bridging thousands of years of history, philosophy, and culture across many continents, the principles of yoga are simple yet powerful: the mind, body and spirit are one.

Classes

FIND YOUR INNER ZUDA

Begin your path to purity and power.

At Zuda, we are dedicated to the art and tradition of Vinyasa flow yoga with experienced teachers trained by Anne Marie Kramer and Baron Baptiste. Specializing in Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga and Zuda Vinyasa Yoga, both styles link breath with dynamic, flowing movement.

Zuda Power Vinyasa ~ Yoga Basics

Build a strong foundation for your yoga practice, as a new or experienced student. Using movement, breath, and short meditation to foster flexibility, relaxation, and self-awareness, classes are taught with emphasis on core alignment and poses.

Zuda Power Vinyasa - All Levels

Based upon the Baron Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga Method, this dynamic practice combines equal parts sweat and spirit. These flowing classes integrate breath and movement, inner and outer alignment, strength and flexibility ~ aligning and purifying the body while calming and rejuvenating the mind. An ultimate experience for people who are ready to tap into their inner power.

The Way of Yoga

Please arrive to class 10-15 minutes early

Refrain from eating 1 to 2 hours before practice

Let your teacher know about any injury or health problems

Please do not wear scents to class

No shoes in the studio

Bring or rent a towel

Clean your area before you leave

Respect the limits of your body, do not push, compare or compete. Yoga is a practice of letting go, being where you are, and self-acceptance.

Although we provide yoga mats and clean them frequently - for hygienic reasons, it is best to have your own mat

Please do not bring cell phones or pagers in class

Enjoy and have fun!

LEADING THE ZUDA WAY

Our dedicated and dynamic team is deeply appreciative of those who have taught before us and those who have helped us in our journey. We respect and nurture the ancient bond between student and teacher. With a love of lifelong learning, eyes and hearts wide open, we bow to what we know as well as to what we have yet to discover. No matter what or from whom we learn, we realize the only true teacher is within.

We look forward to supporting you on your journey to healthy, whole living at Zuda!

Class Schedules

Zuda Midtown     |     Zuda Folsom

                         Rates

Each of our classes offers you a chance to take a daily break and spend time with yourself—time to learn, to feel, to play.  You’ll explore the dichotomy of finding ease in intensity and letting go to discover what you seek.  Each class will challenge you, but not always in the way you think.  Come find out why our students tell us they leave more connected, grounded and peaceful.

Basics/Level 1

Perfect for all levels, each basics class follows a similar format.  Class starts slowly, going over the elemental building blocks of the practice.  As we describe the poses we teach how they may be modified to fit the way your body is in this moment.  This gives everyone an equal chance to experience the benefits of the practice while making adjustments for her own needs.

Many beginning students choose this class for the slower pace and more detailed instruction for each pose.

More advanced students choose a basics class as they begin to transcend the physical practice and focus on breath and presence.  Of course, sometimes you just want a slower pace and a basics class offers that.

Yoga is not hierarchical in nature, meaning there aren’t levels described in the Yoga Sutras or any other texts.  It is equally challenging to become present in a basics class as it is an all levels.

Direction will always be provided for the poses the teacher offers the whole class.  More advanced poses may be offered for advanced students who already know how to do them.

All Levels

Zuda’s signature class—vigorous, dynamic, flow-based yoga where variance and creativity are the norm.  Each class differs from the last to help you find your edge.

  • You will sweat
  • You will be challenged
  • You will have fun

This is the full expression of vinyasa as moving meditation.  Linking breath with movement the practice become dancelike—an interplay of motion and stillness.  Strength, flexibility, balance and cardio come into harmony.  Described as “an awakening” the only way to truly understand is to do it.

We suggest you have a familiarity with Sun Salutations A & B before tackling an all levels class, or have previous experience.

Students of all levels of experience can practice together because everyone takes accountability for her own practice.  Ahimsa, or the idea of doing no harm, beginning with you, is a central tenent.

Zuda Community

by OakParkNow, Tuesday 02 of December, 2008 (11:36:46)

What an amazing community they've created here.  If you haven't had the pleasure of taking one of the many classes offered at Zuda, you're missing out.  I've made many new connections in the last year since I began attending regularly and have been inspired countless times to continue further down the yogi path.  AMK and crew will not disappoint!  There is always some great workshop offered to continue working on your own practice, from beginners to teacher training.  Try the 10 days for $10 pass if you don't believe me...that's how I got hooked.

Zuda’s Got a Good Groove Going On

by krishna harrison, Saturday 18 of October, 2008 (18:06:58)
I’ve been following the Zuda yoga gang since before the inception of the studio. Anne Marie, Zuda’s owner and founder, has always had the gift of creating an atmosphere in which students feel both physically challenged and spiritually inspired. Each Zuda class is a unique journey of movement and sound in which the well-qualified and extraordinary instructor guides the students to “take it to their edge”, encouraging them to the reach the next level of their development as a yogi. The Zuda studio itself, with its burnt orange walls and Shiva statue, is inviting and warm. I invite all to experience Zuda’s style of yoga, which is a unique blend of power yoga intertwined with inspiring teachings. It’s a rare opportunity to truly be able to leave your concerns at the doors as you venture into the Zuda realm where you might just find yourself learning not only how to master your poses on the mat, but how to take your practice “beyond the mat and into the world, to serve all. Zuda Love

by smcc33, Monday 11 of August, 2008 (11:10:57)

I really love this place. It's the yoga studio I've been waiting for in Sacramento for years. The classes are challenging and fun. The teachers are experienced and they really pay attention to making sure everyone is doing the poses properly. Great vibe. The level 1 classes can be a bit cozy (read - crowded), but I don't mind so much.

AWESOME

Zuda Yoga is a totally fabulous place to practice yoga, you get a great work out while having fun. I always leave feeling refreshed, rejuvinated, and yes, pretty tired and sweaty! I have gained so much mentally and physically since my first class in January 2008. It is easy to become addicted to this wonderful place.

Zuda is a great place to practice yoga

by Diane, Saturday 22 of March, 2008 (22:48:49)

Zuda is a totally fantastic yoga studio.  The classes are both great workouts and restorative to mind and spirit. The teachers are knowledgeable and committed to their yoga practice, yet they still manage to make it  all fun.  Best of all, the teachers at Zuda make yoga accessible to everyone.  Regardless of your strength, age, or flexibility when you begin, every person is welcomed into, and becomes part of, the Zuda community.

Love the slow flow

by julia, Friday 14 of March, 2008 (14:36:24)

Zuda is about power yoga but for those of us who like it slower, Korrie teaches the slow flow classes and they are wonderful. You still get a great work-out  and she plays beautiful music and is a true inspiration.

Wicked Fun

by Lydia, Wednesday 12 of March, 2008 (14:27:37)

If you want to deepen your experience of yourself, than this is the place for you. Enjoy Anne Marie's delightful sense of humour and deep understanding of the yogic path, revel in Cori's slow flow, delighti in Tyler's long, graceful body, and Ty's childlike enthusiasm, walk away grounded after Bill's class, and crank up the intensity with Rachel's open level practice. There is something for everyone here. You need not be athletic, or flexible, or spiritual. All you need is a willing and open heart and the desire to know yourself at ever deepening levels and you will thoroughly enjoy yourself and want to come back. And you will become stronger and more flexible, and dare I say, more spiritual simply by practicing. And laugh in every class.

I Tripple Downward Dog Dare you!

by austini, Tuesday 11 of March, 2008 (10:46:57)

You all have driven by it on 19th... what is your excuse for not trying a class? Once you make it to that first class you will be hooked on the benefits immediately.  From there, each class becomes more and more important to your overall mood.  I never thought someone like me could enjoy something more than a martini with friends- but this is it.  Try the introductory 10 days 10 dollars- what have you got to lose... A few extra LBs maybe?

Rock your World!

by Stacy, Monday 10 of March, 2008 (07:59:25)

Zuda Yoga is one of the best parts about Sacramento.  An inviting and accepting community, Zuda Yoga will help you transform your life (whether you want to or not) physically, mentally, and spiritually.  As a former gym addict, I no longer have a membership as I find more gains in strength and cardiovascular endurance through this yoga practice.

I'm not flexible, but that doesn't matter....you work from where you're at.  10 consecutive days for $10 for newbies.... Don't knock it till you try it!

by Lindsay, Wednesday 28 of November, 2007 (10:18:57)
No matter in what state of being I have entered into the Zuda Yoga studio, I always leave feeling completely refreshed and renewed with energy and optimism for the day. The classes may be challenging, but are suitable for any level of yoga practice. The moderately heated room is so great for leaving the body feeling completely detoxified and allows one to go very deep into poses. The instructors are energetic and positive and the studio is beautiful- with hardwood floors and plenty of space to stretch. Arrive to class early to secure a spot and bring plenty of water.
