Quest for Democracy @ CA State Capitol
Welcome!
We’re so excited to have you all join us in our Quest for Democracy on April 29, 2024 at the California State Capitol in Sacramento. We look forward to a successful journey with you all!
We are at a critical moment in history. The threat of oppression looms as injustices seemingly gain momentum due to elections, historical budget allocations, and other systemic operations. Our futures must be defended. Our legacy must be protected.
Over the course of the last 11 years, Legal Services for Prisoners with Children / All of Us or None has organized Quest for Democracy to provide hundreds of directly and system-impacted people from dozens of diverse organizations access to democracy and the opportunity to advocate as experts about the devastating realities of the criminal justice system. By facilitating this direct access to our elected representatives, we’re able to use our real-life expertise to draw attention to our humanity while supporting legislation that helps our families and communities to lead comfortable, healthy lives.
In our Quest for Democracy, Legal Services for Prisoners with Children / All of Us or None invites you to join us at our State Capitol in order to speak in your own voice, and voice concerns you may have for your communities to State Legislators. With everyone’s participation, our collective voice and call to action will undoubtedly make this the biggest and loudest Quest for Democracy ever! We hope to see you there!
Q4D 2024 will feature opportunities directly to members of the state legislature about the bills and policies we believe are crucial to building a more equitable and just society. We will have robust discussions, live entertainment, and a digital megaphone to amplify our voices.
