Please join the Midtown Farmers Market & California Assemblymember Roger Dickinson on Sat, September 7th for a Food Literacy Fair!
Purpose: The purpose of the Sacramento Food Literacy Fair is to educate and cultivate an understanding of food from the ground up, enabling consumers to make informed food choices. The food literacy fair is part of a series of events celebrating food literacy awareness month, a project designed to promote food education, motivate community-wide support, and inspire food choices that are good for people and the planet.
What is Food Literacy? “Food Literacy” means understanding the impact your food choices have on your health, the environment, and your community.
What to Expect? Food demonstration, unveiling of the veggie of the year, march of the veggies, informational booths, fresh produce from the Farmers Market and more!
Times: Press Conference – 10:30am – 11am Press; Food Literacy Fair – 11am – 1pm
Sutter Health will also have Dr. Maxine Barish, an integrative medicine champion and medical director on hand to provide health screenings to Market goers.
