Description
If it’s holiday memories you’re after, come find it at the Old Sacramento Waterfront! Kick off the holiday season with a free, fun and festive lighting ceremony for the holiday tree at Front and K streets followed by the first performance of the Macy’s Theatre of Lights for 2019. Festivities begin with live entertainment 5 p.m. and ceremony at 6 p.m.
The Macy’s Theatre of Lights is an electrifying and family-friendly, free holiday tradition. Discover the sounds of the fires, floods and revelry that befell the historic district in the 1850s as 150-year-old building facades light up with color on K Street between Front and 2nd Streets. The highlight of the 20-minute production is a live dramatization of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” on the balconies above K Street, complete with a special appearance by Jack Frost.
Performances run November 27-December 24 with one show at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve (Nov. 27) followed by two 20-minute performances Thursdays through Sundays at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. with the exception of Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28) when no performances are scheduled, December 23 with performances at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) with only one performance at 6 p.m.
