“Then and Now”
Works by Gerald Walburg
Artspace1616 is pleased to present renowned sculpture Gerald Walburg, known to the wider Sacramento audience for his controversial Indo Arch (1978).
Gerald Walburg has produced an impressive body of work that involves the use of complex symbolism to define his artistic vision. Reflecting his background in industrial design and drafting, the work has an abstract quality with figurative elements that create a rich narrative. Through the exploration of form and space, Walburg continues to have significant impact on visual language. “Then and Now” is a dialog between past and present. Gerald Walburg’s work is held in numerous private and public collections, such as Moma Ny, Moma Sf, Crocker Art Museum and Di Rosa Preserve.
