Description
After her second solo exhibition at Tim Collom Gallery in 2018, Whitney Lofrano returns with “What Goes Around” 45 powerful new works in oil and watercolor running February 4 – 29, 2020.
Lofrano has been painting since childhood, but her work really took off about four years ago with her first solo show at TCG. Her new body of work is inspired by adventures both external and internal. There are several paintings ignited by her travels to Australia, London and Madrid and others about her struggle to stay focused and peaceful with a husband that has uncertain health.
“Whitney Lofrano: What Goes Around” will be on view Feb. 4 – 29, 2020 with an opening reception Sat., Feb. 8, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. "The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
