New Season with New Music
We open our concert season with a performance of sacred music (religious music) for choir and organ. In the spring, we shift the perspective and are curating a concert for secular music (non-religious music) for choir and organ. Vox is looking to showcase the relationship between a religious instrument (organ) and a choir and to dismantle that relationship through the presentation of a concert performance that de-genrefies the organ as strictly a religious instrument. Those who attend both performances will have a unique musical experience that will expose the ways in which organ and choir repertoire can enhance our choral art.

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

Saturday, May 4th, 8am-noon, while supplies last
Sacramento Marina, 2710 Ramp Way
"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
