UNIQUE Programs at Sacramento State is pleased to announce a special nooner event of an Afro Hip Hop Dance Class on Wednesday, February 26th. This free event takes place at 12pm in the University Union Redwood Room.
This Afro Hip Hop Dance Class is instructed by Melissa Muganzo, featuring music from Beyonce’s The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack. Melissa Muganzo is an activist and a part of Sacramento State University’s PRIDE Center. She is an Educator, Motivational Speaker, and Innovator. Melissa’s pronouns are She/Her/Hers and They/Them. She is a part of Sac State’s inclusive Centers for Diversity & Inclusion to help celebrate the differences, cultures, and unique identifies of our community members and generate an even more inclusive, richly welcoming environment at Sac State.
Beyonce’s The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack includes tracks with Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), Seth Rogen, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, Oumou Sangaré, Salatiel, Pharrel Williams, Blue Ivy (Beyonce’s daughter), SAINt JHN, Satta Wale, Major Lazer, Busiswa, Yemi Alade, Tierra Whack, and Nija.
This event is in support of Black History Month. This event is an all-inclusive event that is open to anyone interested within the Sacramento State University and broader community.
