CD RELEASE Featuring LEVI SAELUA ARLYN ANDERSON ALEX REIFF
Due to his in-depth study of the music of different cultures, Alex’s playing transcends musical traditions and boundaries. His expression of rhythm is heavily influenced by his study of Tabla. As a result, he has become known for his creative approach to music and his unique ability to fuse rhythmic ideas from various disciplines, into one cohesive sound.
Alex has studied Music, Drums and Percussion at CSUS Sacramento, The Ali Akbar Khan School of Music in San Rafael and Drummers Collective in New York. In Addition, He performs and records regularly, around California and beyond, playing a variety of music (on both Drum set and Tabla) including, Jazz, Rock, Blues, Fusion, Indian Classical and just about everything in between. Alex leads his own group called “The Alex Jenkins Quartet” which continues to keep a very busy performing and touring schedule, playing more than 100 shows a year.

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
