Description
On Sunday, December 15th @ 5pm, Vox Musica opens their fourteenth season with Britten & Rutter: A Vox Christmas at Beatnik Studios. There will be another performance on Monday, December 16th @ 7pm.
This concert will feature two major works for harp and women’s chorus. The first, Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, and the second, John Rutter’s Dancing Day, which the composer wrote to companion Britten. These celebrated works are the perfect centerpiece for our holiday performance of carols. Joining us is the acclaimed harpist, Anna Maria Mendieta from the Sacramento Philharmonic. You won’t want to miss out on on this special holiday event!
We look forward to bringing to our community one-of-a-kind cultural and music concert projects and are excited to see you at our performances this season.

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
