Enjoy delicious Japanese dishes, prepared right before your eyes! There will be everything from fresh poke bowls, succulent teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef sandwiches, sushi, and more.
See performances by Japanese folk musicians, dancers, and singers. You can hear heart-pounding taiko drum concerts and other cultural entertainment. There are ongoing-exhibits featuring Japanese handmade-doll demonstrations, Japanese calligraphy, and Japanese flower arrangements.
On Saturday evening, The East Wind Band performs, and is Northern California’s premier funk, soul, R&B, and classic rock band. They have opened for Earth, Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, Hiroshima, Average White Band and other big-name entertainers.
Children’s games are a must-play for the little ones, and there are homemade desserts, Japanese sweets and good ole American cookies, pies and cakes.
The Bazaar is a major fundraiser for the Buddhist Church of Sacramento. This event supports the many affiliated organizations such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, youth sports programs, the Japanese language school, and other youth and senior organizations.

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
