DOCO and Verge Center for the Arts presents a series of interactive art experiences in the west plaza beginning August 14. The live art activations, curated in collaboration with the Black Artist Foundry, are designed to elevate diversity in culture, creativity and artistry, and highlight the 16th Annual Sac Open Studios, the region’s oldest, largest, and most prestigious artist studio tour program.

Pop-Up Murals & Photo Backdrops thru September 30, 2021

Sac Open Studios artist, Esther Marie Hall’s pop-up mural titled Take Care of the Land is on display in West Plaza, along with photographer/filmmaker/painter, Joha Harrison’s abstract pop-up mural titled The Music Between the Notes. Drop by for a selfie photo op and be sure to tag us at @docosacramento @vergeart @blackartistfoundry @esther_regtse @surrenderwasapose.

Pop-up Art Studio: September 11-26, 2021 | Saturdays & Sundays

In addition to the freestanding exterior murals in the west plaza, five local artists will utilize inside storefront space next to Getta Clue Store as their pop-up art studios to focus on projects that range from painting, collage, fabrication/textiles, illustration, drawing and more. Visible to plaza visitors, DOCO guests will have the opportunity to watch the live artistry in action by five local artists: Aliyah Sidqe, Esther Marie Hall, Joha Harrison, JT/Jermaine Tilson and Sarah Marie Hawkins. These art pieces will be available for purchase through September 26.
