A benefit concert for and starring Maggie Hollinbeck

Maggie is an actress & musician, currently living in NYC after a decade and a half in her beloved adopted hometown, Sacramento. B Street audiences may remember her as the Snow Queen in the Family Series show by the same name. We’re proud to host this concert to support her in her second battle with breast cancer.

Maggie will be joined by her music partner Graham Sobelman, and some very special guests. They’ll celebrate the long-awaited release of their second album, The Jane Kenyon Sessions Vol. 1, an astonishing collection of Graham’s original compositions set to the poetry of the late Jane Kenyon. They’ll also revisit songs from their tribute to Joni Mitchell’s Blue and other crowd favorites from their many Graham-a-Rama collaborations. And of course they’ll celebrate Maggie’s fantastic rack and all the joy it’s brought to people everywhere.
All profits go to Maggie to support her recovery.

Maggie is definitely a dog person, and will probably raise chickens on her own organic farm someday. She’s a recent breast cancer survivor and contrary to what you’re about to read, rarely talks about herself in the third person. A seasoned veteran of musical, classical, and contemporary theatre, Maggie is best known for her warm, maternal roles (Baruška, Once; and Baker’s Wife, Into the Woods), although she has also wowed audiences in more intense roles such as Queen Elizabeth in Richard III, Barbara Fordham in August: Osage County, and Harper Pitt in Angels in America Part I. She has originated roles in several new musicals, including the role of Miss Glendine in the Off-Broadway Grateful Dead musical, Red Roses, Green Gold.

Maggie’s early training in piano led to a lifelong love of music and a leg up in the flourishing actor/musician genre, which has challenged her to try her hand at more than a dozen musical instruments. She’s now fluent in piano, guitar, and accordion, and enjoys playing around on just about any instrument she picks up. [Editor’s note: do not put a fiddle in her hands.]

In 2013 Maggie joined forces with Graham Sobelman to record Another Shade of Blue, an album of Joni MItchell covers. In 2018 she and Graham will release The Jane Kenyon Sessions, a dozen original art songs by Sobelman featuring the words of American poet Jane Kenyon. She also released her first full-length solo album, Stripped Down, in 2015. All of her music can be found on CD Baby, iTunes, and Spotify.
