Description
(July 5-17): Located down south in Idyllwild, the annual Jazz in the Pines festival is forging ahead with a series of live and recorded performances, as well as an “In Conversation” series with the artists and collaborative performances with the musicians (aged 14 to 18) from Idyllwild Arts summer jazz workshops. Festival co-founder and jazz bassist Marshall Hawkins and his trio lead a bevy of jazz, blues and R&B sets lined up throughout the first two weeks of July, this year curated by vocalist Rose Colella, who also performs. www.jazzinthepines.com.
