Let Them Eat Cake 2022 is July 14th and you are invited to join in the party.

Here’s what you need to know:

1) The event will be in a HYBRID format (meaning the community can view the live stream while sponsors and ticket holders will have the opportunity to attend in person)

2) The live stream can be viewed FREE through the Facebook link here: www.facebook.com/LetThemEatCakeSac

3) We Need Cakes! -This year we will be having a cake-baking contest. They are best tasting, best looking, and most creative. Contact us if you would like to submit a cake.

Brooks Truitt Garden, 19th Street & Q Street:

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.

Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.

Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

Saturday, May 4th, 8am-noon, while supplies last
Sacramento Marina, 2710 Ramp Way

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).

There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.

Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
