The Midnight Players are an R&B and Old School band based in Sacramento, California. Originally formed in 1977, founding members Michael Sellars, (Keyboards), Rudy Betancourt (Saxophones)and Manuel Cervin(bass guitar) remain intact as the group to this day continues to blast the R&B, old school and funk to audiences that love to party to the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s dance grooves.

Established as a household name in the Sacramento music scene – the Midnight Players have been attracting audiences to every kind of event and celebration imaginable, from opening for heavy hitting acts like WAR, The S.O.S. Band, Midnight Star, Tierra, Brenton Wood, The Bar Kays, Dazz Band, Club Nouveau, Zapp, Heatwave, Rose Royce, Lakeside. and many others, to entertaining guests at concerts, weddings and birthday parties. The Midnight Players continue to hit the stage today with old school hits from artists like Earth Wind & Fire, Toni Tone Toney, Chaka Khan, Carl Carlton, Slave, Madonna, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Kool & the Gang, Evelyn “Champagne” King, War, The Gap Band, Chic,…. and many more.

Equipped with a solid fan base, and over 40 years of tradition – The Midnight Players are a proven business force that can lift any audience off their seats and rock the house with an explosion of memorable dance grooves. Armed with a complement of rock solid singers and musicians The Midnight Players have managed to approach the soulful sounds of R&B at a level that only the original artists themselves have been so successful at recording and performing. The dynamic voices of Lead Singers Angela Rodriguez and Jose Miramontes skillfully bring out the extraordinary talents of Lead/Rhythm guitarist Mario Sellars, keyboardist Michael Sellars, bassist Manuel Cervin, saxophonist Rudy Betancourt, drummer Phillip Mitchell, keyboardist Adrian Ballesteros and percussionist Bobby Rodriguez to form a chemistry almost unheard of.
