Description
The 22ndannual North Auburn Artist’s Studio Tour will be held on Mother’s Day weekend, May 11thand 12th, 10 AM to 5 PM. This is a free event for the whole family. A great day to take Mom on an outing she will enjoy! Eighteen Local artists who have been selected, based on the quality of their work, will be showing their art in their studios. This is a self-guided tour restricted to the North Auburn area so people will have time to visit each location. Both 2D and 3D art will be on display, everything from paintings to jewelry, to sculptures, metal work, blown glass, ceramics, photography, even wearable textile art. You will be able to meet the artists and see where they work and in some cases watch them create new pieces. Previews of their work will be on display in Auburn at Tango Frozen Yogurt, Baked and Brewed and the Placer County Library at different times starting this February through June. "The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
