New Years Eve in Sacramento starts with a fireworks show on the waterfront of Old Sacramento and finishes with a night of reveling in the 2019 New Year at the best bars of The Old Sacramento Waterfront.

With early fireworks, great restaurants, bars and shops to choose from, why not come ring in the New Year at all the 2nd street bars all for just 1 price. Why pay a $10-$20 cover charge at each of Old Sacramento’s bars when you can pay one cover and get into all of the 2nd street bars for just $30.00.

The party will include party favors, music, and a good time New Years Eve Celebration!

Please note: If a bar/club is at capacity you may have to wait to get in. However, with this pass you have special front of line privileges, so just show your special wristband to the door security and follow their instructions and you will be allowed in shortly. If a bar/club is at capacity you may still have to wait. Safety is our first concern.

This event happens rain or shine and YOU MUST HAVE A CURRENT ID with you at all times. The wristband alone will not get you into venues, ID IS REQUIRED and must be on you at all times. Drink responsibly and choose a designated driver, cab or Uber/Lyft.

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.

Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.

Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

Sacramento Marina, 2710 Ramp Way

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).

There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.

Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
