Pochoir Monotype is a variation of monotype using stencils to build layered images. Monotype printmaking can be daunting. This class will break down this type of printmaking for beginners, and teach students the best way to use Pochoir Monotype to be successful! The first print is graphic and straightforward. Flipping, layering and re-inking the stencils and plate create the exciting second and subsequent prints. Pochoir Monotype is perfect for creating a series of prints or body of work because of the prints relational quality. Students are asked to bring ideas for stencil/shapes, and organic materials such as leaves. All tools and materials for this workshop are provided; including BFK paper, mono plate, ink, brayers, modifiers and materials for making stencils. Instructor will have student examples to share. All levels are welcome. Please bring a lunch.
