Drive down Highway 57 in Grand Ole Opry country and theater goers will come to a filling station run by L.M. and Jim. Across the way is a diner operated by Rhettaand Prudie. One would not guess it at first glance, but these diamonds-in-the-rough can deliver a toe-tapping evening of country western songs on guitar, piano, bass, and even a kitchen utensil or two! Pumps Boys and Dinettes is countrified musical theatre featuring a cast of talented actor-musicians and packed full of lively foot-stompers like “Farmer Tan” and “The Night Dolly Parton Was Almost Mine!”
Join the Sacramento Theatre Company for a free Prologue Series in the Lobby 45 minutes before each regularly scheduled performance, where everyone will learn more about the play, the author(s), and the production they are about to see.

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
