Featuring the Stummies, and more
Sacramento, CA folk-rock outfit The Sealegs, formed in late 2013, takes pages out of a variety of books while writing their original tunes. Think The Kinks, Tom Petty or Wilco, for starters. At live shows, the band thrives on strong energy and good vibes. The Sealegs line-up ranges from 8 to 4 band members per concert, but usually averages at 6 (instruments include guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, congas, viola, ukulele). In under a year, the band has made live shows the focus, including headlining & supporting performances at Sacramento-area venues like Harlows Nightclub, Old Ironsides, Marilyn’s, The Press Club, The Torch Club and a recent Concert in the Park gig with !!!, Saint Solitaire & DJ Shaun Slaughter.
Stummies – Americana with a Britpop twist, good lyrics, and a melancholy sound. Formed in 2015, The Stummies continue singer/songwriter/guitarist Will Comstock’s (The Inversions) legacy of Sacramento pop artistry. The Stummies also feature two scene veterans (bassist Tom Mackerness and lead guitarist Todd Weber) who’ve been friends for over 30 years but are in a project together for the first time. Drummer Scott McConaha (The Inversions/The Sealegs/the Jingle Monks) rounds out the band with his quirky brand of percussion. The Stummies released their self-titled debut CD in 2016, and will release their sophomore effort in Summer 2018.
Adam Varona is from The Inversions and Sea Legs, his music is heart-felt, melodic, and wonderful. Sea Legs is a four piece original folk rock outfit, with a driving and fresh rhythm. Think Wilco, The Kinks, The Decemberists and hugs.
