Second Saturdays at DOCO
10am – 12pm
Location: West end of DOCO

On the 2nd Saturday of each month, DOCO hosts an event for families with children. These art activities are specially-designed by Verge Center for the Arts to stimulate creativity while providing a fun weekend activity for families.

Recommended Parking: DOCO has 4 garages onsite, each conveniently located. We suggest parking at the DOCO Central Garage (414 J Street) for 2nd Saturday Activation’s.

4/13: Easter
Paper Daffodils: Perfect for Easter or any spring day, these paper flowers are easy to make and fun for all ages.

5/11: Kites
Kite Making: Make paper kites and fly it on the green

6/8: School’s Out
Mini Verge Kids Summer Studio Camp: Kids and their families can try their hand at activities offered by the Verge Summer Camp Series

7/13: Fireworks
DIY: Party Crackers Celebrate the 4th of July by making party crackers, filling them with confetti, candy or noisemakers

8/10: Sac pen Studios Guide Release
Sac Open Studios Artist Spotlights: Two Sac Open Studio artists will demonstrate their technique and lead a hands-on activity for kids

9/14: Sac Open Studios Launch
Kids Open Studios: Set-up an artist’s studio where kids and their families can explore, play and create their own works of art.

10/12: Halloween
Halloween Decorations: Create outdoor Halloween decorations from our treasure trove of creepy crawly art supplies

11/9: Native American Heritage Month
Textiles Coloring Books: Learn about Native American designs adapted from textile patterns, wood carvings, ceramics, and other traditional craft forms.

12/14: Holidays
DIY Wrapping Paper: After shopping, stop by and make your own unique wrapping paper. Choose from stencils, paint, markers, washi tape, and more.
