The Brangs are a Northern California musical outfit, featuring Kevin Coughlin, Tom Proulx, Rob Meyer and Pete Barker, all of whom share a deeply-rooted musical pedigree that shares multiple common links with the heartbeat of Sacramento. Playing mostly original music with a decent helping of fun cover tunes from across several different musical spectrums, The Brangs are focused on creating a musical escape into a world of characters and stories that gives a little bit of airtime to the lost and lonely, the rough and tumble, and the less-than-lucky side of life. Within The Brangs’ songs, truckers, loggers, sweet little old ladies in ragged sweaters, and moonshiners with broken hearts trace their lives across alkaline plains, the parking lots of half abandoned strip malls in small western towns, and drifting across the center line of a cracked midnight highway.
Drawing collective influences from country to folk to rock to blues and rockabilly, The Brangs play music that anybody can appreciate and enjoy, whether it be as background music on the friendly confines of a summertime patio, or a featured act on a center stage. Time spent listening to good music is not time wasted, and we’re here to prove it.
