THE FUTURE OF CHILDREN IN TURKEY
Join Amnesty International Sacramento for an evening of Turkish food and culture, a look into Turkey`s family detention, and ideas on how you can help children jailed with their mother in Turkey.
The event starts at 6:00 with a light Turkish meal, art exhibit, and cultural sharing. All parts of the evening are free.
There will be short of a presentation on the family detentions by a former Turkish lawyer, followed by a Q&A.
Please register so we can plan seating and food.

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
