The Mindful is a band that combines psychedelic and progressive colors, memorable songwriting, insightful lyrics, and sophisticated improvisation.

The Mindful is a band that combines psychedelic and progressive colors, memorable songwriting, insightful lyrics, and sophisticated improvisation. Having been raised by a guitarist for a father as well as having a classical singer for a grandmother, I was exposed to a wide variety of music from a young age. I began playing guitar right after hearing Black Sabbath at age eleven, eventually receiving world class training at Boston’s Berklee College of Music in my early twenties. During this time, I learned to play many styles of music and to compose for a myriad of instruments while daydreaming of an “ultimate band”; one that could include all of the musical elements that inspired me.

The material on this first album is what I would call “Chapter 1 Mindful”, in that some of these songs are around 8 years old! You’ll hear blends of rock, psychedelic, progressive, funk and jazz as well as some Americana-based songs; it is a unique and dynamic arc of an album! Some songs were written out of heartbreak, or tragedy, while others represent the moments of inspiration that make us excited to be alive.
