Description
The University Union’s UNIQUE Programs is pleased to announce their 40th anniversary celebration of bringing entertainment to Sacramento State. UNIQUE is a volunteer based program that brings innovative, quality entertainment to campus throughout the academic school year. Student volunteers work hard each semester to plan, promote and produce all UNIQUE events, which include various movie nights, concerts, and multicultural programs. UNIQUE made its way into the Union in 1978, with a central goal of creating outstanding entertainment and educational opportunities for Sac State students and its surrounding communities.
The week-long celebration will take place from Monday April 8 – Thursday April 11. The first three events will be held in Serna Plaza, with the final event being held in the University Union Ballroom. The events are as follows:
Wednesday Birthday Nooner:

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

Saturday, May 4th, 8am-noon, while supplies last
Sacramento Marina, 2710 Ramp Way
"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
