Sacramento Baroque Soloists presents – Michael Lawson and colleagues

In this perennial favorite concert, Sacramento Baroque Soloists’ cellists perform a selection of rich, dark, and sonorous Baroque Cello Sonatas. Dark, rich, and sonorous, and also bright, sweet, and expressive, the cello is the most versatile of instruments. In this perennial favorite concert, Sacramento Baroque Soloists’ principal cellist Michael Lawson and colleagues perform a selection of Baroque Cello Sonatas, accompanied by a continuo section of harpsichord, organ, and guitar. Sacramento Baroque Soloists, the region’s premier Baroque ensemble, performs three concert sets at Harris Center in their 18th season.

Sacramento’s professional baroque music ensemble creates vibrant, engaging performances of music from the 17th to 19th Centuries. The group has established a reputation for quality and compelling programming. Inevitably, audience members leave these intimate concerts feeling moved and inspired. In 2019-20, the ensemble performs their 18th concert season. Repertoire includes Sonatas to concertos and sinfonias, from Corelli and Vivaldi to Bach and Charpentier. Audiences enjoy the many varied themes and historical program notes presented through the years.
