Grab your pups and head over to our 6th Annual Haunted Howl-o-ween Party at Wag Hotels to benefit the Pets In Need Rescue Organization. Stop by Wag Hotels on October 30th and you will find a haunted hotel waiting for you and your pooch to explore, with tricks and treats around every corner!

Canine and human guests alike will be spooked by:

  • Photos with Cruella de Vil
  • A costume contest with fun prizes
  • Trick-or-treat goodies
  • A silent auction
  • Local vendors
  • Wag swag
  • And more!

Pets In Need is a non-profit rescue organization located in the Bay Area. They work to advance the no-kill movement by rescuing animals that are in danger of being euthanized due to space or financial limitations. Their vision is to create a world in which every adoptable animal can find a loving home and live a full life. Schedule of Events –
6:00pm Check in, trick-or-treat, and take pictures with Cruella de Vil
7:00pm Costume Contest:

  • Most Original
  • Funniest Costume
  • Scariest Costume
  • Best Owner/Dog Combo Costume

7:30pm Silent Auction (must be present to win)
8:00pm Gather those last minute trick-or-treat goodies and mingle with other goblins and ghouls!

Ticket Prices100% of ticket and raffle proceeds will go directly to Pets In Need, to help them continue to do the amazing work that they are doing, saving animals across the Bay Area.

  • Pets and Children (18 years and under) enter for FREE!
  • Early Bird (ends 9/30): $5 per adult
  • General Admission (ends 10/29): $10 per adult
  • Door Price: $15 per adult

Participant responsibility –
By attending this event, I agree:

  • To keep my pet on a leash of 6 feet or less at all times.
  • To assume responsibility for my and my pet’s actions.
  • That my pet has all appropriate vaccinations.
  • To scoop my dog’s waste.
  • That there are no refunds since all proceeds will be donated to charity.
  • To have fun!

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.

Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.

Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

Sacramento Marina, 2710 Ramp Way

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).

There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.

Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
