Description
Wednesdays at Winn, presented by Midtown Parks and Sutter Health, is a new year-round certified farmers’ market each Wednesday at Winn Park. The market operates from 3 pm to 7:30 pm through November when hours roll back to 3 pm to 7 pm through the end of February. The market features open air booths offering organic produce, flowers and farmers market grocery items, as well as prepared food and food trucks. The market accepts EBT, enabling CalFresh recipients to buy fresh, healthy, local produce.
Winn Park is located on the corner of P and 28th streets in the Sutter District near the Sacramento Natural Foods Coop. Parking is available in nearby garages, bike parking is available on site (please bring a bike lock), and attendees are invited to take the Sacramento Regional Transit light rail and exit at the 29th street stop. For more information on ways to get into and around Midtown, please visit www.easeintomidtown.com. The market operates year-round except for weather interruptions for strong winds projected at 15 mph or greater or an 80 percent chance of rain. The market closes annually between Christmas and New Year’s Day and is planned to be closed on Wednesday, December 30th.

SATURDAY, Feb 4th, 1-3PM: Book signing and Q&A w/ Oakland author and artist, Ajuan Mance! Professor Mance will be signing her latest book and sitting down with our own @laurelingilmoreartist to talk shop about her recent projects art and writing.
Through her teaching and scholarship, Mance focuses on history and Black literature in the United States. She has authored, "Inventing Black Women: African American Women Poets and Self-Representation, 1877-2000", "Proud legacy: The "colored" schools of Malvern, Arkansas and the community that made them", and "Before Harlem: An anthology of African-American literature from the long nineteenth century."
Mance's art complements her scholarship in exploring similar themes of race, gender, identity, and history. She is the creator of a number of zines including "Gender Studies", "The Little Book of Big", "Black Bears", and "A Blues for Black Santa."
