Please join us for the 15th Annual 2019 Kaiser Permanente Women’s Fitness Festival taking place on June 2, 2019 on 9th Street, between L Street and Capitol Mall.
This is a one-of-a-kind all women’s event that includes medals and a beautiful race tee for 5K/10K finishers. Participants of the Princess ½ Mile Fun Run receive a princess tiara. After the event, please join us for a farmer’s market-style offering of fresh produce, granola and yogurt from Nugget Markets and celebrate with your friends in the mimosa garden. Enjoy complimentary health screenings at the Kaiser Permanente Thrive Pavilion.

"The City’s Recycling and Solid Waste Division this spring is offering a series of free in-person backyard composting seminars to help residents learn how to turn food scraps into compost right in their own backyard.
Attendees will learn about decomposition at a local community garden and discover how to recycle leaves, yard clippings, fruit, and vegetable scraps. Additionally, they’ll receive a demonstration on using a “Geobin” composter and learn about composting materials.
Tips will be shared on how to achieve the right balance of food, air, and moisture, how to maintain compost piles, and home gardening."

"City staff will be giving away free wood mulch to Sacramento residents on May 4 at the Sacramento Marina (2710 Ramp Way).
There will be a limit of one cubic yard of mulch per customer during the event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to noon or while supplies last.
Attendees can also get free bagged and loose compost, which can improve soil health."
