  • The Sacramento Asian Pacific Cultural Village presents the 2018 Sacramento Asian Pacific Film Festival on Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th at the California Museum.

Our fourth year will bring audiences Beyond Resistance through eye-opening films and engaging panel discussions. Be inspired by stories from Asian and Pacific Islander perspectives, and hear from voices working to support social justice efforts in our local communities.

Join hosts Frances Wang (KXTV ABC10), Stephen Chun (KBCW 44 Cable 12) and Mai Vang (Sacramento Board Trustee, Area 5), as more than two dozen films screen across two days and four separate showtimes. Highlights include a screening of Justin Chon’s critically acclaimed film Gook, featuring a special message from actor and Sacramento native David So (Sunday night closing presentation); an Asian and Pacific Islander activism panel on Sunday afternoon; and Resistance at Tule Lake (Saturday night), presented in partnership with the ABAS Law Foundation, and featuring a discussion with filmmaker Konrad Aderer.

View the full schedule and ticket options at www.SAPFF.org. Join us this May as we cap off National Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with film, food, stories, and more!

    MISSION:

The mission of the Sacramento Asian Pacific Film Festival is to celebrate our diverse experiences and to advance the roles of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans in film and new media.

The signature event of the Sacramento Asian Pacific Cultural Village, the Sacramento Asian Pacific Film Festival is held in May during National Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, and serves alongside a continuum of events and programming in support of traditional and contemporary Asian and Pacific Islander artistic expression within the Sacramento Region.

The 2018 Sacramento Asian Pacific Film Festival would not be possible without the support of generous sponsors like Capsity, Crossings TV, Sparxo, Trinity Legal eSolutions, our community partners, individual contributors, and volunteer staff.
