Description
West End Blues: A Sacramento Jazzstory continues at the Sacramento History Museum for the next installment of this powerful and immersive jazz experience. This ongoing series features new songs, updated multimedia visuals, and a deeper look into Sacramento’s vibrant West End — once the heart of the city’s jazz and cultural scene.
Performed by the dynamic Harley White Jr. Orchestra, each show in the series will highlight different eras of Sacramento’s jazz history, with new music and visuals added each time as the story progresses through the years. Whether you’re returning or attending for the first time, every show offers something fresh.
The music for this program includes many songs recorded on the Harley White Jr. Orchestra’s album, Cupcake, and more will be included on a forthcoming album to be recorded this year. The historic photos accompanying the music come from local archival and library collections, including the Center for Sacramento History, Sacramento Public Library, California State Library, Western Railway Museum, and many private collections, as utilized by historian William Burg in books published by Arcadia Publishing and the History Press.
