Stay Awhile – a Nathan Cordero Show Opening Reception
Verge Center for the Arts is pleased to present “Stay Awhile: A Nathan Cordero Show.”
Organized by Verge with the collaboration of three friends of Nathan Cordero, Renny Pritikin, Gioia Fonda and Liv Moe, and the cooperation of his widow Stacy McConnen, this exhibition is a memorial celebration of the late artist. A selection of some 100 highlights from almost twenty years of Cordero’s output will demonstrate his work using excised images on wood, cut paper, and painted objects, with an emphasis on his obsession with language and rebus-like imagery.
Join us for the opening reception on June 8 to preview the show and share tacos and beer in Nate’s honor.
Opening Reception: June 8, 2019, 6 PM – 9 PM
Panel Discussion: Wednesday, June 26, 6 PM
Exhibition Hours: June 8 – August 18, Thursday – Saturday 11 AM – 5 PM, Sunday 12 PM – 5 PM
Price: Free
Where: Verge Center for the Arts, 625 S Street, Sacramento, CA, 95811
Update: we’re already noticing friends and collectors of Nate’s work sharing photos. We would love it if you could use the hashtag #StayAwhileNate or #VergeArt so we can follow these images and help compile a list of what exists in permanent collections. Thanks!
