12 Days of Midtown – December 1-12, 2024
12 Days of Midtown brings festive cheer to Midtown for 12 festive and fun days, each featuring a unique holiday event ranging from holiday markets and cocktail specials to live theatre and community fundraisers.
• December 1 – Museum Store Sunday at Sutter’s Fort and the State Indian Museum kicks off the 12 Days of Midtown promotion. Since 2017, this global event has celebrated the vital role museum stores play in supporting local communities. Shoppers are encouraged to visit Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park and the State Indian Museum to find unique and meaningful gifts while helping to fund community-strengthening programs and events.
• December 2 – Jet’s Grinchmas invites adult shoppers and guests to step into a Grinch-themed holiday adventure with festive cocktails and Who-ville vibes.
• December 3 – A Giving Tuesday Ugly Holiday Sweater Party at Alaro Craft Brewery gives guests an opportunity to enjoy a holiday celebration with 20% of sales from 5 to 8 p.m. benefiting Midtown Parks, plus a prize for the most festive sweater.
• December 4 – Frost Fest at Fremont Park offers a family-friendly evening with live music, winter decorations, 75 local vendors, and holiday fun from 4 to 8 p.m.
• December 5 – OBO Midtown Parks Fundraiser provides an opportunity to enjoy holiday meals and meal kits while supporting a great cause. For one day only, 15% of all online orders (pick-up or delivery) benefit Midtown Parks with promo code DINEDONATE.
• December 6 – Jungle Bird presents an annual favorite — Sippin’ Santa, a festive pop-up with holiday-themed cocktails to get shoppers into the spirit of the season.
• December 7 – Always fresh and fun, the Midtown Farmers Market offers holiday shoppers a chance to find local, handcrafted, and artisan-made gifts.
• December 8 – Made in Midtown Shopping Trail continues the holiday shopping festivities with more than 25 participating businesses throughout the district, where shoppers receive a limited-edition Midtown Love ornament (while supplies last).
• December 9 – Sip + Sew Workshops at Topstitch invites the community to sign up early for a holiday sewing and craft workshop to create a thoughtfully made gift for someone extra special.
• December 10 – Festive Drinks at The Cabin where revelers can warm up with hot toddies and cozy drinks in a wonderful and wintry cabin-inspired setting.
• December 11 – A Christmas Carol at B Street Theatre presents a reimagined version of this holiday classic, perfect for performance art lovers.
• December 12 – Golden Bear’s highly anticipated Hot Toddy Competition wraps up the 12 Days of Midtown with a spirited hot toddy competition, live music, and a $5 cover benefiting the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services.

What are the benefits of speculative futures? What challenges and opportunities do they present? Is Afrotopia possible? Explore the intersection of Black culture and history with science and technology. Afrofuturism is music, film, fashion, literature, art, performance, and more.
This is not a lecture, but an open forum discussion. Your thoughts and ideas are welcome. From Sun Ra to Octavia Butler to Black Panther, to Janelle Monae, into the Spiderverse, and beyond.
