Gary Mendoza formed his first blues band in San Luis Obispo, CA in 1995. He has been singing and blowin’ harp in local and outside-area clubs, festivals, and private parties and continues to perform to this day. With years of rough living and blues experience under his belt, Mendoza has paid some dues and has garnered a reputation as a true bluesman. Gary’s motto is “blues is like a snake-bite remedy, when you get bit by a snake, they cure you with a little bit of the venom.” It’s the same with this music, “it takes the blues to cure the blues.”
Band members are: Sacramento Blues Hall of Fame Inductee Liz Peel on bass. Seasoned in the pocket and always on time John Newby on drums. Youngest member and making his way to the top Stephen Kimball on electric and slide guitar
