2nd Saturday Art Walk: Artspace 1616
In his art practice, Chris Daubert is profoundly engaged with the conceptual aspect of the work. His experimental approach contributes to a rich multi-faceted opus that expands boundaries of the expected.
The series “Wrestlers” began as a performance piece titled “Reason versus Romance”, a shadow play wrestling match. In 1987, images from the video documentary were silkscreened to steel sheets and left outside to the elements. Three decades in the making, the finished artwork is a dramatic exploration of human condition.
Known as an artist, writer, and educator, Chris Daubert has made a significant impact on the artistic landscape of the northern California region. His works are in numerous private and public collections.
