Millencolin released their ninth studio album “SOS”, on Epitaph Records. SOS is their first album in four years, and the follow up to 2015’s True Brew.
It’s clear the band members are just as unified as they were when they formed Millencolin, roughly 26 years, eight albums and 2,000 live shows ago. “We’re a band truly formed from respect and understanding for each other and our passion for rock music,” explains vocalist/bassist Nikola Sarcevic. “If you ask us, this is the best job in the world!”.
SOS was recorded at the band’s own Soundlab Studios, in in Örebro, Sweden and mixed by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. It was produced by vocalist/bassist Nikola Sarcevic and guitarist Mathias Färm in Soundlab Studios, with all artwork, photography created by guitarist Erik Ohlsson.
Yankee Brutal play an intense brand of melodic hardcore that sounds something like the pissed off love-child of Strung Out and No Trigger with the social consciousness of Bad Religion. Spitting venom with the best of them, Yankee Brutal bring punk rock’s fury back to the forefront, middle finger proudly displayed to the powers that be. The revolution won’t only be televised, it’ll have a soundtrack — complete with breakneck drums, whoa-ohs, and a couple of mean sounding six-strings.
Having released their first full-length album “The Everlasting Greed”, and “No Hope” EP, through Dying Scene Records, the band has completed 2 national tours, sharing stages with punk vets such as: Lagwagon, Pennywise, Authority Zero, Suicidal Tendencies and many more.
Yankee Brutal are currently working on a new record, to be released sometime 2015, followed by many a drunken show, somewhere near your drunk ass!!
Knocked Down – A skatepunk band based in Stockton, CA / Sparks, NV formed by Chris Whaley and Tony Heckerman. The band formed in late 2016 after Chris and Tony departed their former Sacramento band, Yankee Brutal of Dying Scene Records. Knocked Down released their first EP in early 2017. They released their single” It’s Not Easy Getting Old” in early 2018. Knocked Down has plans to release their first full-length album around October 2019. Though, Chris actively releases acoustic songs on the Knocked Down Spotify, Youtube, etc.
