According to Bazooka plays a concert of “Irresistibly catchy, energetic and fun tunes with a timeless vibe” at the delightfully inviting Ruhstaller Farm in Dixon. Based in California, A2B writes original music inspired by life in the valley. Their Americana sound blends genres into a crossover retro pop roadhouse bistro universe. Melodic and engaging, A2B’s sound lives in a timeless world that draws from blues, rock, old time jazz, country and 60s pop sensibilities. Featuring guitar, accordion, classic keyboards, violin, upright bass, and drums, A2B offers up music full of rich harmony, texture and relatable observations of everyday life. The chemistry and love of the craft shines bright between these musicians. The result is a unique sound and an inviting musical experience.
According to Bazooka’s vibrant folk-pop infused sound blurs the lines of rock, folk, blues, jazz, pop and zydeco. Their unique show features well-crafted tunes, rich harmonies and irresistible “retro-pop” melodies.
This fusion of sound grew out of the original instrumentation of the band which included an accordion and a bouzouki, hence the name According to Bazooka. Band members Don Johnston, Jamie Knapp, Daphna Rahmil, René Martucci, and Richard Urbino bring together a joining of roots music and California pop sounds.
Their unique vintage instruments grab the attention of the audience both visually and sonically. An engaging art of storytelling lifts According to Bazooka to an even higher place. They write songs that every listener can relate to while happily swaying along. Catchy, singable songs with an ‘easy come, easy go’ perspective on the absurdities of life that we all share.
