Description
Dr. Meghna Bhat (she/her) is a California-based consultant, award-winning storyteller, and passionate advocate and speaker for gender and social justice. A multidisciplinary storyteller, feminist scholar, and educator, she wears many hats and finds herself constantly navigating the intersections of her diverse identities, roles, and decision-making. With over 20 years of work experience, her work is centered on sparking conversations and shifting cultural norms through decolonized narratives, using true and personal storytelling as a powerful medium for intergenerational wisdom, collective care, healing, and meaningful change.
Being a proud first-generation South Asian immigrant and a 2022 recipient of the Seeding Creativity Artist Grant, Dr. Bhat created Gulabi Stories: A South Asian Healing Initiative, which has been featured on ABC News and Deccan Herald. She is deeply grateful to the vibrant community of Sacramento, whose love for art and culture continually inspires her to slow down and embrace life’s beauty. Having shared her true stories in written forms and on stage, Dr. Bhat currently works part-time at Capital Storytelling as the Immigrant Stories Program Coordinator and enjoys coaching other storytellers.
