Description
Dia de los Muertos is a day to remember and honor our loved ones that have crossed over. We adorn their graves with flowers and sweets and lovingly create altars in our homes. For over 45 years the Sacramento area has gathered in ceremony to celebrate this beautiful tradition. A procession will start at 11:30am from Hiram Johnson High School 6879 14th Ave Sacramento CA 95820 to St. Mary’s Cemetery, 6509 Fruitridge Rd. Sacto, CA 95820.
The community altar is open to all. Feel free to bring a photo of your deceased loved one, or perhaps their favorite small candy or beverage as an idea. Join us at our DDLM workshop. Workshops will be at the Washington neighborhood center on Sunday Oct. 20th, 10am -2pm. Workshops include máscara, sugar skull and pan de muerto.
