Presenter bio: Mari Wrobi is a queer, trans and intersex advocate born and raised in Sacramento, California. They work full-time at a shelter for LGBTQ+ youth experiencing homelessness at the Sacramento LGBT Community Center; intern at the Gender Health Center; and are an intersex rights advocate with interACT: Advocates for Intersex Youth.
Workshop bio: “Intersex 101” allows those who are just getting started in their intersex allyship the opportunity to learn everything they need to know to be the most effective in their advocacy. This workshop seeks to answer the most common myths and misconceptions about intersex people, to empower attendees with the correct terms and phrases to be the most appropriate in their activism, and to answer any questions that attendees might have about the needs of the intersex community and what they can do to be an ally to intersex people in their day-to-day lives.
