    A traveling exhibition from The National WWII Museum at the California Museum in Sacramento, CA

    February 4, 2025  – May 4, 2025

    Making its traveling debut at the California Museum, Our War Too: Women in Service is a groundbreaking special exhibit honoring the nearly 350,000 American women who answered the call to serve their country during World War II. Made up of unique and colorful artifacts from The National WWII Museum’s collection, the exhibit explores the efforts, struggles, and accomplishments of these servicewomen, the impacts of which extend into the present day.

    More than 200 artifacts
    Immersive environmental projections
    Narrative films and personal story features
    Interactives: a digital scrapbook of women’s service, a cryptography display, AI-based interactive conversational interviews with WWII women veterans, and more!

    The Prom follows a group of Broadway actors whose careers have hit a rough patch. They decide to take up the cause of a high school student named Emma, who has been banned from bringing her girlfriend to the prom in their small Indiana town. The Broadway actors descend on the town to help Emma and fight for LGBTQ+ acceptance, using their theatrical talents and star power.

    In its 74th year, the Sacramento Autorama is one of the longest running hot rod, custom car, and motorcycle expositions. The Sacramento Autorama is in the Kustom Capitol of the World and is the home of many coveted awards, including the Custom d’Elegance award, World’s Most Beautiful Lowrider and the finale of West Coast Challenge. The event attracts the best of the best builders and owners from all over the world to compete in this annual, historic event. Its legend members include car heroes who have made a notable contribution to the growth of America’s unique hobby of custom cars. The show is known for its “Big B Awards,” the H.A Bagdasarian Award, the Sam Barris Memorial Award, the Joe Bailon Memorial Award, and the Dick Bertolucci Automotive Excellence Award.

    There will be over 500 show vehicles competing this year for cash and prizes. We will have additional vehicles joining us in the special parking area next to the buildings at the 18th Annual Autorama Drive-In. We give over 400 awards away at the Sacramento Autorama for entries in the hot rod, street machine, restored, custom, motorcycle, suede, and truck categories. We are proud to give away over $35,000 in cash and prizes to our valued participants. Join us at The Gately Audio Show. This premier event will feature SQ and SPL competitions, live demonstrations from some of the largest and most innovative builds in the country, exclusive deals from West Coast vendors, drawings, awards, and an outstanding car show.

  • Mómti Market @ Sacramento History Museum

    Mómti Market

    In proud partnership with the Sacramento History Museum, the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is excited to present Mómti Market on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free and family-friendly, the market will take place in the Museum in Old Sacramento and be filled with artisan-made goods crafted by talented California Native artists offering items for purchase such as jewelry, baskets, cultural art and graphic art.

    Museum admission is free for this event.

    The pop-up market will include 20 vendors, plus interactive demonstrations and educational booths on display for visitors to browse, shop and experience. Popular for all ages, a sampling of the hands-on demonstrations available will include basketry, acorn processing, cordage, along with fun and games. Guests will also have the opportunity to connect with and learn from California Native artists and demonstrators on-site for the special activation.

    The Mómti Market is presented in conjunction with the Sacramento History Museum’s Mómtim Pewinan (River People), an exhibition guest curated by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians’ Exhibits & Collections Department. The community is encouraged to explore the installation to learn about contemporary Nisenan culture and how today’s artists and culture bearers maintain the old ways through the practice of Traditional Ecological Knowledge.
