    Sacramento Premiere

Conflict photographer Mia wakes up in the Istanbul apartment of her on-again, off-again girlfriend after being found unconscious at the scene of a massacre she was photographing. Mia can’t even remember being there, but she wired photos of the site hours before she was found. The two women resume their volatile push-pull when Mia’s well-meaning Californian mother arrives from the US, trying to help unravel what happened to her daughter.

“Thought-provoking, challenging and complex. Those attributes alone make Unseen worth seeing, but it’s all that and more.” –ASHLAND NEWS

  • Sacramento Book Festival @ Shepard Garden & Arts Cntr

Posted to Annual, Art & Culture, Family/Kids, Featured Events, Sales, Special Interests May 31st, 2025

This annual event, although still growing through its infancy, has attracted headliners such as James Rollins and Catriona McPherson. We can also boast 100+ local authors selling their books for all ages of diverse genres.

We are proud to announce partnerships with local literary organizations, The Sacramento Literary Foundation, 916Ink, and The Mustard Seed School. With them, we hope to promote literary awareness throughout the region.

Sacramento has several book fairs, but the California Writers Club wishes to promote a Capital Event. Here authors of varied abilities will champion literary awareness and share skills across diverse cultures.

The California Writers Club (CWC) is a statewide organization and one of the oldest and largest writers’ clubs in America.  We have a proud heritage going back to our founding in 1909. Organized into local branches, the club has over 1,900 members in 22 branches spread across our state.

Our mission is to provide education and support for writers in our communities. Our motto is Writers Helping Writers, which we believe to be more than a slogan.

Writing should not be a solitary profession, as writers tend to be social. We want to talk about and read their work to others. We are excited to learn their craft and to understand the business of writing and publishing.

Welcome to the Sacramento Book Festival – The Sacramento Book Festival
