Description
Empty Bowls is River City Food Bank’s largest fundraising event to raise awareness around hunger in Sacramento County and to support our emergency food programs. Our 16th Annual Empty Bowls event will take place on March 25th and 26th, 2019 at the Sacramento Convention Center. Empty Bowls 2018 was attended by more than 1,500 people and raised more than $300,000, which directly funds all aspects of our emergency food programs. We can’t overstate how important Empty Bowls proceeds are for our mission to feed the more that 110,000 individuals we serve in Sacramento County.
The evening soup supper and luncheon seatings will be held at the Sacramento Convention Center in Downtown Sacramento. The evening soup supper features wine, appetizers, gourmet soup, breads, and dessert from Classique Catering. Luncheon guests will enjoy a simple meal of soup from great local restaurants, bread, cookies, and beverages. All attendees will select one of over 1,600 beautiful handmade bowls donated by professional potters, glass artists, wood turners, and area students to take home with them as a reminder of the many in our community who are hungry and face an empty bowl each day.
Because no one should be hungry…
